Parliamentary General Election


Following the recent announcement from Westminster, there will now be a General Election on 8 June 2017. Voters in this Borough will be electing an MP for Redcar or an MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland and polling information cards will be delivered from 10 May. The list of candidates will be known by 12 May at the latest.

If you are not already registered to vote, the deadline to Register to vote for this election is 22 May.
If you are an existing postal voter you will receive your postal packs around 24 May. The deadline to apply to become a postal voter is 23 May at 5pm and we must receive your completed application form by this time (new applicants will receive their packs around 1 June but if you will not be home to receive your pack, you may wish to consider appointing a proxy to vote on your behalf instead.) All forms can be downloaded from www.yourvotematters.co.uk or you can contact 01642 774 774 for assistance.

Tees Valley Mayoral Election

On 4 May residents of Redcar and Cleveland will have the opportunity, alongside residents of the wider Tees Valley, to elect a new Mayor for the Tees Valley. Further information about electing the Tees Valley Mayor can be found by visiting the Tees Valley Combined Authority website.

Candidates and their agents can find out more information including nomination packs and a timetable from the Combined Area Returning Officer in Stockton.

As the Election progresses, more information about the candidates will be published including a copy of the Mayoral Booklet.

Notice of two Skelton & Brotton Parish Council Casual Vacancies


There are two casual vacancies on Skelton & Brotton Parish Council in the Brotton West and New Skelton & Hollybush Wards. The deadline to receive any requests to hold an election is 5 May 2017 for both wards.
