FOUR rapid response crews are set to be deployed across Redcar and Cleveland as part of a drive to keep the borough clean and tidy and respond to urgent repairs and maintenance.
Starting this summer the dedicated rapid response crews will help improve efficiency and response times across the area and allow the teams responsible for routine maintenance to focus on the work that’s scheduled.
The crews will have a designated area that they will be responsible for which will include Coastal, Greater Eston and East Cleveland, with the fourth providing support and cover across the borough. When not responding to incidents they will carry out ongoing maintenance and repair work across the area.
Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Cllr Adam Brook, said:
“One of my main priorities since becoming Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods has been to target and improve the look of the borough and support our vision to keep the area clean and tidy.
“These new rapid response teams, which will include new additional jobs, can deal with reactive daily requests and leave our other crews to focus on the routine work.
“This means we can provide a more responsive and efficient service, delivering the best for our residents.”
Leader of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Cllr Alec Brown, added:
“In last year’s local elections, we promised to focus on keeping the area clean and tidy, tackle fly-tipping and improve the overall appearance of the borough.
“The four rapid response teams, we are delivering, will work right across the area and help tackle and respond more effectively and efficiently to the environmental issues that really matter to our residents.”
Residents can report issues through the contactus@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk or call 01642 774774.
Further details on the scheme will follow soon.
