Refurbishment and youth provision temporary venue relocation
Tuned In! and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council have been successful in receiving funding as part of the government’s ‘Levelling Up’ grants. This means that as part of the plans, Tuned In! will be receiving a refurbishment to transform it into a centre of excellence for music, arts and culture.
Due to the construction works taking place, our building will need to close for health and safety purposes. The refurbishment will be starting in March 2025.
We will not be closing any of our Youth Sessions. We have now moved out provisions temporarily to other venues across the borough until the work is completed.

Our projects
Streetz plus detached

Streetz plus detached project will consist of a street-based team of experienced and trained youth workers in partnership with Cleveland Police Neighbourhood Policing Teams to work for six months in an identified area of Redcar and Cleveland.
The project will deliver a range of early intervention, diversionary, educational and positive activities centred around assertive, street-based youth work, which will engage with young people aged 8-18 years who are at risk of exploitation, and/or of becoming involved in antisocial or criminal behaviour, in particular serious youth violence.
The key outcomes are:
- Reduction in youth antisocial behaviour
- Reduction in youth violence
- Improved youth mental health through positive activity
- Increased engagement of young people in positive activity
- Raise aspirations of young people in the areas identified
- Increased community confidence
- Increased referrals of young people to support services
- Increased feelings of safety in young people

Youth work plus - targeted youth project
Youth work plus (YWP) aims to engage young people on the edge of being vulnerable, exploited, missing or trafficked (VEMT) who are at risk of becoming involved in child criminal exploitation (CCE) or youth crime, or displaying antisocial behaviours that make them a concern in terms of contextual safeguarding.

Our team of youth workers will be using centre based, 1:1 and small group work, plus whole family support, outreach and partnership in order to engage with those young people.
