In order to visit Dunsdale tip, you must book an appointment.
Opening times
Dunsdale tip is open from:
- Monday - 8am until 5pm
- Tuesday - 8am until 5pm
- Wednesday - closed
- Thursday - 8am until 5pm
- Friday - 8am until 5pm
- Saturday - 8am until 5pm
- Sunday - 8am until 5pm
Only residents of the borough are permitted to use the facility. Anyone attempting to deliver waste arising from a commercial, business or industrial waste to the tip will be refused entry.
Residents who visit Dunsdale tip are advised that additional charges also apply to dispose of tyres. Asbestos is also accepted but needs to be double bagged and sealed. The following limitations apply, per household, for the disposal of hardcore, rubble & ceramics, soil, and plasterboard at the site:
- Only 2 x 15kg bags of each material accepted per visit or a single item no larger than 2000mm x 750mm x 700mm in size (such as a plasterboard, a basin, etc)
- A maximum of 1 visit per week
Where residents bring asbestos to be disposed of, this must be double bagged using a minimum 300 gauge polythene sack or wrapping.
Booking Information
- Tipping permits no longer issued. Some vehicles are not permitted to tip under any circumstances.*
- Residents with the following vehicle types need to select the 'Vans and permit type vehicles' option when booking an appointment - pick-up truck, 2 door flat-bed truck, vans/minibus/campervan up to 3.5 tonnes or any vehicle based on a van chassis such as a Tourneo/Berlingo etc.
- Any vehicle with a trailer is required to select the 'Vans and permit type vehicles' option when booking an appointment.
- Some waste is chargeable
- Payment by debit or credit card only. No cash is accepted.
Only residents of Redcar & Cleveland Borough are permitted to use the Dunsdale tip. A hard copy of proof of residence is required (Council tax bill, driving licence, recent utility bill)
