You can use the above local website which covers the Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland districts, to check where the record of birth, death, marriage or civil partnership you are looking for is held and which office to apply to.

Please make a note of any relevant reference numbers so you can use it when making your application.

Applying for your certificate

You can apply for a copy of a certificate at Redcar Register Office in three ways;

  • You can complete our online certificate application form. Once your form is submitted, a member of the team will call you back to take payment. Please have your credit / debit card available.
  • You can telephone the office on 01642 444440 and a member of the team will process your application. You will need to pay at this point so please have your credit / debit card available.
  • You can call into the Register Office during normal office hours and complete an application form. Your payment will be taken at this point – you can pay by cash or card.

There are two standards of service when making an application;

Standard – this service is £12.50. Your certificate will be issued within 5-15 working days of your application. You can choose to collect your certificate or have it posted to you second class.

Priority – this service is £38.50. Your certificate will be issued in 24 hours of your application. You can choose to collect your certificate or have it posted to you first class. 

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery or accept responsibility for non-delivery of your certificate by post, once it has left the Register Office.
