We are here to support you as you transition to independence. Within this service, you’ll find essential information and guidance on a variety of services designed to help you in your day-to-day life.
As a care leaver, you are entitled to support that helps you navigate adulthood with confidence. Whether you're looking for help with finding suitable accommodation, managing finances, or accessing healthcare services, the local offer aims to ensure you have the tools and resources you need.
Key Areas of Support:
- Accommodation: Guidance on securing stable housing, with options for semi-independent living and emergency accommodation if needed.
- Money: Financial advice, budgeting support, and access to grants or benefits you're eligible for.
- Health and Well-being: Help to access medical services, counselling, or mental health support, ensuring you feel healthy and cared for.
- Education, Training, and Employment: Support with enrolling in further education, apprenticeships, or finding a job that suits your aspirations.
- Leisure and Personal Development: Information about activities, clubs, and opportunities to build social connections and explore hobbies.
How to Access the Local Offer:

- Direct Support: Your personal advisor or a member of the leaving care team is available to provide tailored advice and help you access what you need. You can contact us by:

The Government has introduced a scheme to provide additional employment support to care leavers as they transition from being looked after to living independently.
At Redcar & Cleveland, we are proud to be signed up to the Care Leaver Covenant, a national initiative designed to open up opportunities for care leavers. The Covenant represents a 'promise' from employers, local businesses, and other professionals in the community to offer meaningful support, including:

- Apprenticeships
