Policies and Guidance
The LLFA has a duty to produce a Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment (PFRA), a requirement of both the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and Flood Risk Regulations 2009.
The PFRA highlights areas of potentially significant flood risk. The assessment provides a high level summary of the flood risk within our borough and has compiled this information using both historic and regional data.
Local Flood Risk Management Strategy
The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS) for Redcar and Cleveland sets out a borough wide strategy for managing the risks of local flooding.
The Strategy aims to:
- understand flood risk in Redcar and Cleveland;
- lessen flood risk;
- increase resilience to flood risk.
The LFRMS will help to ensure that the Environment Agency, Northumbrian Water Ltd, ourselves and other partners work together to help protect the people and businesses of Redcar and Cleveland from flooding. This is available to download and view below:
