Home Energy Efficiency Tees Valley (HEET)

What is HEET?

HEET (Home Energy Efficiency Tees Valley) is a partnership of local authorities in the Tees Valley comprising Darlington, Hartlepool, Stockton and Redcar & Cleveland, all working as one under the HEET brand.

HEET provides grants to homeowners and residents to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, keeping them warm and cosy whilst reducing energy usage.

We have been awarded over £6 million in funding from the Government’s Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) to help homes that don’t have gas central heating installed, and are heated by other means such as electricity, oil, LPG or other fossil fuels.

HEET, along with HUG, are offering help and assistance with funding up to the value of £18,000 per household for properties that don’t have gas central heating. The energy efficiency measures include insulation, upgrading windows from single to double glazing, and installing new heating and renewable technologies such air source heat pumps and solar panels – all FREE for qualifying residents.

Your home must have an Energy Performance of D, E, F or G. Go to https://www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate for more information.

To see if your household automatically qualifies under your post code and to register an interest in giving your home a HUG with HEET go to www.hartlepool.gov.uk/HEET-register

If your postcode doesn’t qualify, your household gross income should be less than £36,000 or be in receipt of a qualifying means-tested benefit, including Universal Credit, Working and Child Tax Credits, Income Support, Income-based Job Seekers Allowance (JSA), Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), and Pension Credit Guarantee.
