AFTER yet another successful session at Guisborough yesterday, where a further 550 vaccines were administered, the team are preparing to return to Loftus this Friday 26 November, this time at the Loftus Youth and Community Centre.
The latest figure takes the total number of people jabbed at 12 pop-up clinics to 4059 so far.
Social media channels were inundated with messages of thanks and support from a number of happy residents, who received their jabs or accompanied loved ones to get theirs.
“People were keen to get vaccinated, just needed the opportunity," said one person who visited the Guisborough pop-up. “Fantastic service, so well organised. It saved a lot of hassle for my husband and myself to just walk and get jabbed without having to travel miles to two separate locations on different days."
“The team were so friendly, helpful and most professional," said another. “They were amazing with my daughter. Thank you to all involved."
This Friday at Loftus, the team will be supported again by the Northumbria Roving Vaccine Unit. People can turn up with no appointment at the Youth and Community Centre, found at Duncan Place, Loftus, TS13 4PR, between 10am and 5pm.
First and second vaccines are available as always, plus flu jabs for people aged 65+.
COVID boosters are available for:
- Age 40 & over
- Frontline health & social care workers
- Age 16 to 49 years in the at-risk group for COVID
- Adult carers
- Adult household contacts of those in at-risk groups
Please ensure 6 months have passed between second jabs and a booster jab. 8 weeks must have passed between first and second jabs; however, it must be 12 weeks between the two for 16 and 17 years olds.
12-15 year olds will be permitted their first dose - but must have consent.
Parking at the venue will only be available for blue badge holders. Drop off and collection will be available at the venue for those with poor mobility or medical conditions. For everyone else, alternative free parking can be found at Handale Car Park and on North Road.
Councillor Steve Kay, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Health, Housing and Welfare, said:
“Another fantastic session took place at Guisborough yesterday, totalling 1300 people vaccinated in Guisborough in just two days.
“The messages of thanks are wonderful to see and are testament to the hard work of the team, who are fully committed to this priority."
