AS THE NUMBER of people vaccinated by the council's pop-up team surpassed 2200 last month, four further sessions have now been confirmed at Guisborough and Loftus.
Guisborough's first ever pop-up will take place this week, on Friday 19 November at St. Nicholas Church Hall, Bow Street (TS14 6BP) from 10am-5pm, with parking available at Fountain Street.
No appointment is needed and members of the public can turn up to receive either their first or second Pfizer or AstraZeneca jab, or their booster.
Flu vaccinations for the over 65s will also be available.
If you are thinking of attending the clinic, please ensure that at least 8 weeks have passed between your first and second jab. For boosters, six months must have elapsed since your second vaccination.
The Pfizer vaccine will be offered to 12-15 year olds, who must have consent from a parent or guardian.
This Guisborough session is to be repeated on Tuesday 23 November, where the team will once again be supported by The Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
At Loftus, the team returns for the third time on Saturday 20 November from 8:30am-4:30pm.
The clinic can be found at Loftus Leisure Centre on Deepdale Road, TS13 4RS and as always, no appointment is necessary. The session will be repeated on Friday 26 November, this time at Loftus Youth and Community Centre.
First and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be on offer. 16 and 17 year olds will be able to get their first dose only. For everyone else, please make sure 8 weeks have passed between your first and second jabs.
Booster vaccinations at Loftus will be available for:
- Age 50 and over
- Frontline health and social care workers
- Age 16-49 in the at-risk group for Covid
- Adult carers
- Adult household contacts of those in the at-risk groups
Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Health, Housing and Welfare, Steve Kay, said:
“Two sessions will now be delivered at Guisborough, where there have been many requests for this facility. We hope as many people as possible will turn up to receive their jab or booster on the 19th or 23rd November.
“Loftus also has its third and fourth sessions on the 20th and 26th. The response last month was overwhelming, demonstrating just how much the people of East Cleveland value these mobile units. We are so pleased to see so many people who wish to protect themselves and others from Covid_19, which is still a very real and potentially deadly virus."
