REDCAR and Cleveland is becoming even more dog-friendly to attract visitors to the area.
Designated dog-walking areas are already popular on Redcar and Saltburn beaches and dozens of cafés, restaurants, pubs, attractions, hotels and guest houses have committed to accepting dogs.
A full list of dog-friendly venues is now available on the Council’s dedicated tourism website and Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Carrie Richardson, has confirmed the authority is committed to making the area even more welcoming to dogs and their owners. She said: “Dogs are part of the family as far as we’re concerned in Redcar and Cleveland. I’m a dog lover myself and I know that elsewhere in the country it’s not always easy to find places welcoming for loved animals…but that’s not the case here. I’d say to anyone in the region and from further afield who want a break but can’t be without their beloved dog that you’re very welcome – come and join the fun in Redcar and Cleveland.”

Dogs are welcome to visit our beaches there are certain areas of our coastline that have seasonal (1 May – 30 September) dog exclusion zones to ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and other beach users.
At Saltburn, dogs are excluded from the beach area to the left of the Pier up to the point of access to the beach at Hazelgrove. Dogs are welcome to be walked on a lead along the promenade.
At Redcar, dogs are excluded from the beach area of The Regent and the point of the beach at which the Esplanade meets Graffenberg Street. Dogs are welcome to be walked on a lead along the Esplanade.
