Statement - Green Spaces/Beyond Housing

Councillor Adam Brook, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Housing at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has issued the below statement following a meeting with Housing Association Beyond Housing earlier today (Wednesday 31 May).

He said: "Today I have expressed my concerns to Beyond Housing about the deteriorating condition of green spaces in certain areas.

"After a productive meeting with Steve Rawson, Chief Operating Officer at Beyond Housing, I have to say, I felt hugely reassured by his commitment to pledge every available additional resource to resolve the issue.

“Like me, he understood the vital importance of getting basic services like grass-cutting right, so that we can all enjoy our outdoor spaces and he offered his sincerest apologies to everyone affected.

"I will actively monitor the situation and look forward to meeting senior representatives of Beyond Housing in future, and remain optimistic that we will all see the promised improvements very soon. By working closely with Beyond Housing, I aim to ensure that the green spaces in the area are restored to their optimal state, providing a pleasant environment for the community."
