Who can apply online?
Parents/Carers whose children will be starting in reception year of primary education or Year 7 of secondary education. You must be the parent or have parental responsibility for the child concerned.
You can also apply if your child is not currently attending a Redcar and Cleveland school and you want them to do so.
Before you apply, be aware of,
- If you have not used the portal within the last year you will not be able to use any previously generated passwords, you will be required to enter all your details afresh.
- The information in your application must be accurate and any place offered on false information may be withdrawn.
- By completing the online application, you confirm that you have read, understood (and where necessary sought advice) before completing the form.
- If your circumstances change (for example, you move house), you must inform us in writing or by email – schoolsadmissions@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk
- If you are applying to a catholic academy you will need to also fill in a supplementary application form (please note: without completing the main application through the citizen portal or the main application form; the supplementary form on its own is not sufficient). When completed please forward directly to the catholic academy for St Peter’s Roman Catholic College or Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Academy.
Primary School supplementary forms should be returned to the School Admissions Team.

- The portal for Secondary will open on 5th September 2025.
- The portal for Primary will open on 17th November 2025.
