THE pop-up clinic team returns to Redcar on Monday 29 November, where they'll be supported in administering vaccines and boosters at Redcar & Cleveland College by the Northumbria Roving Vaccine Unit.
The success of the mobile unit has been unprecedented, with more and more residents requesting visits or returns to their towns. 4059 people have been jabbed by the team so far, with a session ongoing today at Loftus.
For Monday's session at Redcar & Cleveland College – on Corporation Road, TS10 1EZ - people can turn up without an appointment from 10am – 5pm.
First and second vaccines are available as always, plus flu jabs for people aged 65+ and those under 65 who are eligible.
COVID boosters are available for:
- Age 40 & over
- Frontline health & social care workers
- Age 16 to 49 years in the at-risk group for COVID
- Adult carers
- Adult household contacts of those in at-risk groups
Please ensure 6 months have passed between second jabs and a booster jab. 8 weeks must have passed between first and second jabs; however, it must be 12 weeks between the two for 16 and 17 years olds.
12-15 year olds will be permitted their first dose - but must have consent.
Councillor Steve Kay, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Health, Housing and Welfare, said:
“The total number of people vaccinated is set to exceed 5000 over 13 sessions at various locations around the borough. If you haven't had your jab already or your booster is due, please visit the team and continue to protect yourselves and others in your communities as we approach Christmas."
