The mobile vaccination 'Boro bus' is back – and no appointment is necessary.
So far about 1,400 mainly young people aged 16 and above have been 'jabbed' with the Pfizer vaccine on the bus which has been made available by Middlesbrough Football Club's MFC Foundation charity with the backing of manager Neil Warnock.
Now the bus is coming back once again with NHS support and will at Redcar & Cleveland College on Corporation Road, Redcar between 9.15am and 3.45pm on Tuesday 28 September.
Anyone can simply show up for a jab, although the Pfizer vaccine has predominately been used for the under 40s.
Councillor Steve Kay, Cabinet Member for Health, Housing and Welfare, said: “Restrictions have eased and we continue to go in the right direction - but, make no mistake, this pandemic is not over. We need everyone to get jabbed. The statistics could hardly be clearer – those who have the vaccine are dramatically less likely to get Covid and when they do it is almost always much less serious. If you haven't received the vaccine yet, here's your chance. Get down to the bus and grab a jab."
Neil Warnock has previously said he was, “pleased and proud" that the club has teamed up with the council to help with the vaccination campaign and urged everyone to get vaccinated.
