Need financial help? Here’s how to find it

You might be surprised at what support is available if you’re struggling to make ends meet as the cost of living continues to rise. Below is a list of organisations and support services who may be able to help.

Redcar and Cleveland Money Advice

This service, provided by the council, and partners aims to ensure that you have access to financial information, advice and support covering: benefit entitlement and disputes dealing with debt, affordable housing, improving digital skills, accessing community banking, planning for retirement, budgeting support and help with utilities.

Pension Credit

Pension Credit is a retirement benefit to help pensioners with the cost of living. This benefit is paid to more than1.5 million people nationally, and can be for as much as £3,000 a year.

Council Tax support

You may qualify for help with your Council Tax if you are:

On Universal Credit
Income Support
Jobseeker's Allowance
Employment and Support Allowance
On Pension Credit
Working and on low pay (including people who are self-employed)
On a low income

Public transport
