Residents urged to use next mobile vaccine walk-ins

Guisborough and Saltburn will be the next two locations for the Council's mobile vaccination unit.

People are being encouraged to visit for their first, second or booster jabs – and do not have to be a resident of either town to attend.

No appointments are necessary.

At Guisborough, the team will be supported by the Northumberland Roving Vaccine Unit and can be found from 10am – 5pm at St. Nicholas Church Hall on Bow Street (TS14 6BP) on Friday 14 and Monday 17 January.

  • Boosters are available for 18 and over only (3 months must have passed since second vaccination)
  • First and second vaccines (8 weeks between the two for over 18s)
  • Vaccinations available for 16 & 17 year olds (12 weeks between first and second)
  • Vaccinations available for 12–15 year olds (12 weeks between first and second)
  • Flu jab available for those 65+ (and those under 65 who are eligible)

Parking is available at Fountain Street Car Park.

In addition, there will be a Saturday session at Guisborough on 15 January, provided by the Council and the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This no appointment walk-in will also be at St Nicholas Church Hall, this time from 8:45am – 5:45pm.

Saltburn Cricket Club (Marske Mill Lane, TS12 1HJ) will host the pop-up clinic team again on Sunday 16 January from 10am – 5pm, supported by Welcome Health Pharmacies Limited (Saltburn Pharmacy, T Kingston Pharmacy, Lingdale Pharmacy and New Marske Pharmacy).

On site parking is available and no appointments will be needed to be jabbed.

This session will have the same offer as Guisborough; however, flu jabs will not be available here.

Councillor Steve Kay, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Health and Welfare, said:

“January vaccination sessions are coming thick and fast since it is vital we get everyone jabbed to keep them out of hospital. The Omicron variant has been recognised as being milder than other variants, despite its high transmissibility; however, being jabbed is the safest way to ensure we don't become more ill than we otherwise may have. Other variants are still present too.

“If you're unsure about jabs and still haven't had your first one, please chat to our very friendly team beforehand. Let's keep everyone in Redcar and Cleveland safe."
