THE RIVERSIDE vaccination centre will be moving to the Redcar Civic Centre next week, Monday 16 May, where it will be offering boosters and spring boosters as well as walk-in vaccinations for all age groups.

The walk-in vaccination clinic will be based in room 1 on the ground floor of the Civic Centre, Ridley Street, Redcar, TS10 1TD from 16 May to 10 June. It will be open from Monday to Friday and provide Redcar and Cleveland residents with easy and flexible access to Covid-19 vaccines.

Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Health and Welfare, Cllr Steve Kay said: “The relocation of the vaccination centre from the Riverside to the Redcar Civic Centre is great news for our residents, especially for those 75 and over, residents in a care home for older people, and those who are immunocompromised and due a spring booster of the vaccine.

“This has all been made possible because of the councils successful working relationship with The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Once they knew that they had to vacate the Riverside for four weeks we were first on their list.

“I would like to remind residents that it is still vital that they get vaccinated to protect themselves and their communities and that those most at risk come forward for a vaccination."

The council are also continuing to work with its partners to provide mobile vaccination pop up clinics throughout Redcar and Cleveland. For more information on dates, times and locations of these clinics please go to Mobile Vaccination Unit (redcar-cleveland.gov.uk)
