The Queen's Platinum Jubilee - Day 1

The bank holiday in honour of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee had a sunny, exciting start on Thursday, 2 June.

Families from Redcar and Cleveland had a ton of fun at Locke Park and got to attend the Mad Hatter’s Yarn Tea Party at the Kirkleatham Museum.

The crowds from the Redcar High Street were wowed by the fantastic music and dance show offered by The Imaginarium in a brilliant celebration of music, through every decade of Her Majesty’s reign.

The Town Crier was also present at the Redcar Beacon, the Mayor Stuart Smith also attending the event.

To end the day in a spectacular way, at 9.45pm the Beacon wass lit at Birk Brow to mark the Queen’s 70th year on the throne.
