Joanna Andrews, Chair of the Inspiring Women Steering Group said: “Year after year, we are bowled over by the nominations we receive. There are so many women who are doing incredible things, not looking for recognition but just to make a difference. I’m proud we’re able to play a part in bringing much needed publicity to many community organisations and change makers in Redcar and Cleveland. It was especially heartwarming to see the Mo Mowlam Award go to Young Woman winner, Eva Hambley; it really shows us that the future is in safe hands!”
Anna Turley, MP for Redcar and Cleveland and founder of the Inspiring Women Awards, said: “It has been a privilege to witness the growth of the Inspiring Women Awards over the past decade. I launched the awards in honour of Mo Mowlam, the former MP for Redcar, on the 10th anniversary of her death, to celebrate the incredible contributions of women in our community. What started as a simple idea to recognise the extraordinary women of Redcar and Cleveland has evolved into a powerful movement of empowerment, leadership, and change. Each year, I am inspired by the courage, dedication, and resilience of our nominees, and this year’s winners have once again shown us the incredible determination and strength of character that drives real change in our communities”
Cllr Alec Brown, Leader of the Council, said: “The Inspiring Women Awards are a testament to the remarkable contribution of women across Redcar and Cleveland. Each winner has demonstrated exceptional dedication, resilience and leadership, making a real difference in our communities. Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you for all the amazing people making this event such a huge success year after year.
“I would also like to extend my congratulations to all the volunteers from Zetland FM for receiving the well-deserved King’s Award for Voluntary Services.”
